Resource Extraction
Tony Bellaver’s Resource Extraction project photographing clear cut sites in the Pacific Northwest of the United States serves as witness to continued extraction. The photographs were taken with a vintage Hasselblad medium format camera. Using satellite images, photographs of slag piles, and hand-cut text in an accordion fold book, he shows what is removed in an anthropocentric landscape.
