During my daily commute I would sometimes pass through the Montgomery BART Station and notice an old man in a small window selling newspapers. In 2013 I come upon an article in the SF Chronicle that longtime newspaper vendor Dallas Ayers died of injuries from an attack on Market Street near the Montgomery BART station. He had been selling the Chronicle at various locations for 30 years. Muni Station News Vendor honors the people that work to bring us the news. Newsstands used to be pervasive, now this direct method of information delivery has almost vanished. Each change creates a gap in our experience.
